Data sources
Everything on a broker page comes from public records or reviewed carrier reports. Here's where every piece comes from.
FMCSA public data, updated nightly
Broker authority, authority history, revocations, insurance and bond filings, pending cancellations and BOC-3 filings come from FMCSA's public datasets on data.transportation.gov. We refresh them every night and log what changed.
Court records (CourtListener)
We search public federal court records through CourtListener. A case only appears on a broker's page once it's confirmed: the filings mention the broker's MC or USDOT number or match its city and state, or one of our admins has reviewed it. Cases that only match a name stay hidden.
Carrier reports
Ratings, days-to-pay, paid-on-time and unpaid-charge figures come only from carrier reports on specific loads that a moderator approved. Reports with a rate con or invoice attached are marked "Load documented". Documents are never shown publicly. Brokers can reply to each report.
What we don't use
We don't scrape Facebook groups, DAT, load boards, forums or review sites. Most of them forbid it, and their data can't be checked. We only link out to them. We don't buy or show third-party credit scores. Where a Google rating appears, it comes live from Google and is labeled as Google's.
Report an error
If you're a broker or carrier and something on a page is wrong, we want to fix it. A report-a-correction form is coming soon. Contact details will be posted here.
